I drew this guy on my iPad with the Apple Pencil using my favorite vector app called &#8220;<a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/graphic/id404705039?mt=12" target="_blank">Graphic</a>&#8220;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3057" src="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-h650.png" alt="Vector Art" width="650" height="650" srcset="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-h650.png 650w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-h650-400x400.png 400w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-h650-100x100.png 100w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-h650-510x510.png 510w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-h650-150x150.png 150w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-h650-300x300.png 300w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-h650-610x610.png 610w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-3059" src="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-bw.png" alt="purple-alien-bw" width="620" height="651" srcset="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-bw.png 820w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-bw-510x536.png 510w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-bw-286x300.png 286w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-bw-768x806.png 768w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/purple-alien-bw-610x641.png 610w" sizes="(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px" /></p>
<p>The reason I like Graphic, is because it allows me to draw a line then go back and move it, or change its settings like width and shape&#8230; I also love a list of presaved brushes or strokes that you can use giving the strokes amazing variety and style. Once the lines were finished i sent it over to my laptop and used Adobe Flash to add colors, shading, shadows&#8230;etc.</p>
<p>From Flash I simply exported the image as PNG but its 100% vector art. Even the cool glow effect was done in flash using overlay blend mode.</p>
<p>I think he turned out pretty cool, hope you like him as well&#8230;</p>

<p>Hey guys, this week I modeled a Cartoon Creature in zbrush 4R7. I built this using Dynamesh and zSpheres.</p>
<p>Here is the detailed dynamesh sculpt:</p>
<p><a href="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2377 aligncenter" src="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-1024x707.jpg" alt="cartoon-creature-dynamesh" width="1024" height="707" srcset="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh.jpg 1024w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-510x352.jpg 510w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-300x207.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>Once the body was complete, i moved on to adding more subtools such as teeth, eyes, nails, tongue and horns!</p>
<p><a href="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-subtools.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2378 aligncenter" src="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-subtools-1024x696.jpg" alt="cartoon-creature-dynamesh-subtools" width="1024" height="696" srcset="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-subtools.jpg 1024w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-subtools-510x347.jpg 510w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-subtools-300x204.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>Next, was the fun part of polypainting and adding more little details&#8230; using alphas</p>
<p><a href="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-polypaint.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2380 aligncenter" src="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-polypaint-1024x683.jpg" alt="cartoon-creature-dynamesh-polypaint" width="1024" height="683" srcset="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-polypaint.jpg 1024w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-polypaint-510x340.jpg 510w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/cartoon-creature-dynamesh-polypaint-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>After that, I unwraped the character using uvMaster and moved on to Maya for rigging and animation. Here is the low poly mesh after it was zRemeshed. I am pretty happy with the final poly count at 3,487 faces. I brought the subtools (teeth, tongue and horns) as separate meshes using goZ, and recreated the nails using a simple box in Maya in order to keep the geometry clean and low poly.</p>
<p><a href="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/monster-lowpoly.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2414 aligncenter" src="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/monster-lowpoly-1024x705.jpg" alt="Low Poly Maya version" width="1024" height="705" srcset="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/monster-lowpoly.jpg 1024w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/monster-lowpoly-510x351.jpg 510w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/monster-lowpoly-300x207.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p><a href="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/maya-creature-texture.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2419 aligncenter" src="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/maya-creature-texture-796x1024.jpg" alt="maya-creature-texture" width="796" height="1024" srcset="https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/maya-creature-texture-796x1024.jpg 796w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/maya-creature-texture-510x656.jpg 510w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/maya-creature-texture-233x300.jpg 233w, https://uistudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/maya-creature-texture.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 796px) 100vw, 796px" /></a></p>
<p>This is the final unity 3d animated model:<br /> <iframe loading="lazy" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/63QIPIZI2v0?rel=0" width="960" height="720" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
